2023 Virtual Festival

Kingdomwood Intl Film Festival is a 501c3 organization that aims to reach, teach, and inspire the next generation of filmmakers and film enthusiasts. Our festival features over 100 films submitted by outstanding filmmakers, scriptwriters, and actors, all with the theme of inspiring and providing a platform for filmmakers to express their visions. We are excited to announce that we will be transitioning to a virtual festival in 2023, allowing us to reach a wider audience and provide more opportunities for filmmakers to showcase their work. About John Littleton

Born in Tallulah, Louisiana, in 1930. Son of a Baptist preacher and farmer, John Littleton Sr, and Bertha Brown. Showed an early aptitude for singing and received encouragement from people like Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. Thompson. Served in the military in Europe, notably near Reims, France, where he performed in various shows and galas. Studied at the John Pepperdine College, focusing on singing inspired by musical classics. Moved to Paris after his military service to enroll at the Conservatoire National de Musique, excelling as a Basso-Baritone. Won several awards, including a First Prize in Singing, a First Prize in Opera, and a Second Prize in Opera Comedy. Embarked on a career in music, facing the choice between classical, popular music, and even a potential film career. In 1960, inspired by young people at the Elysée Palace in Vichy, he began creating French religious songs, aiming to foster communion among believers. Composed numerous songs, including "Je Cherche," "Les Mains Ouvertes," "Donne-Moi La Main Mon Frère," and "Toi Notre Dame." Toured worldwide, sharing his music in countries like Japan, New Caledonia, Lebanon, Haiti, the United States, Cameroon, and Poland. Maintained his connection to his African American roots, emphasizing the religious and spiritual aspects of Negro Spirituals. Distinguished between authentic Negro Spirituals, Gospel Songs, and the commercialization of these sacred traditions. John Littleton continued his father's legacy and worked to protect the purity and spirituality of these musical genres. Married Jeanine Estelle Diblik in 1957 and had two children, Doris and Patrick. Lived in Reims, France, and maintained an office in Paris for his professional endeavors. John Littleton loved Paris and received honors from the city later in life. Died in Reims on August 24, 1998. John Littleton Jr. made a significant impact as a singer, composer, and protector of religious music traditions, particularly Negro Spirituals. He embraced his heritage and used his talents to share the spiritual and religious aspects of this music with the world.
